Jordy Bralette – NURSING HACK!

I don’t do a lot of pattern hacking, but this was a serious need in my wardrobe, so there was no hesitation hacking right into this one. The Calvin Top

Big news – a new True Bias pattern dropped yesterday!! If you haven’t already seen it, take a quick minute to go check it out. As we’ve come to expect from Kelli and True Bias, this pattern is another absolute winner. The Calvin Wrap Top and Dress is a strappy true wrap top / dress with some great details. It looks perfect in linen and linen blends, but would also be so great in a rayon or one of those beautiful silk noils I’ve had my eye on. I had the pleasure of testing this pattern – there have been a few minor tweaks to the pattern since then, mostly in the strap length, but I’ve been absolutely in love with this top ever since I finished stitching it up.

The Lisa Dress

I first discovered the world of garment sewing while on the search for a particular, sold-out dress – a V-Neck woven dress with a solid bodice and a great, novelty print skirt. Despite becoming an avid sewist, I never did attempt to recreate that particular dress, partially because I’ve STILL been searching for the ideal V-Neck dress pattern!! I’ve been sewing Athina’s patterns for quite a while now, and for some reason I just had not taken the time to sew the Lisa dress. When she contacted me to let me know that she’d be hosting an entire month of sewists focusing on the Lisa and Kimberly dresses, I knew I couldn’t say no – it was the perfect opportunity to sew up a V-Neck dress. Would this finally be the one??
