I’m back today with Nikko Dress number two of three for 2018! As you may remember, I fell in love with this dress earlier this year when I sewed up my dusty pink version LINK and realized how well it worked with my pregnant belly. I had a couple of other rib knits in my fabric stash, and immediately cut out two more colorways – this lovely teal version, and another in olive green. The olive green is still sitting on my table, waiting for a free minute to be sewn up, but this lovely one was the next top priority. I wanted something to wear to my baby shower with my Oklahoma friends and family that would show off my pretty pink earrings, without going over the top head to toe pink. This color was the perfect option – a color I love, that pairs great with pink, and worked perfectly for my second Nikko vision.
I can’t believe this is now my fourth post of 2018 with the IndieSew Blogger Team! IndieSew has long been one of my favorite fabric and pattern sources, and it has been such a pleasure to be blogging with them over the past year. To close out this year’s IBT posts, I’ve got a super cute, super comfortable leggings and sweater combo – perfect to see me through the end of pregnancy, and some chillier weather on the other side!
Today marks the 8th Sew My Style reveal day, which means that we are officially ⅔ through this year! That is CRAZY! Even though it is very much still summertime here in Texas, the rest of the northern hemisphere is beginning to transition into autumn, making the Halifax Hoodie the perfect wardrobe addition. I absolutely love my version, so you will find me rocking it indoors in the AC with shorts for the next month or so still!
I never intended this fabric to be an Emery dress, but when things are meant to be, they do have a way of working themselves out. Sometimes all the pieces fall into play, and you just end up with the world’s most perfect Emery dress! Maybe? Okay, I may be a little partial, but hey, I think it falls right on up there in the rankings!! You be the judge…
