Leopard Lauren Draped Top

When the team at Sinclair Patterns asked if I’d like to try out one of their patterns, I fell for the Lauren Draped Top pretty quickly. I’ve been on a mission to bulk out the tops section of my wardrobe recently, and I thought this would be such a great piece. I’ve not made many pieces with any type of draped detail like this, so I also thought it would be a fun new skill to try out. I knew that I wanted my first version to be in some sort of leopard print (because along with beefing up my top collection, I’m all about beefing up my animal print collection lately!), but I think this pattern would also be a great way to spice up some otherwise simple solid color pieces! Today I’m sharing my thoughts on this cool pattern with you on the blog 🙂

January Monthly Make My Stash – Grey Dot Toaster Sweater

When I started to think about my 2020 sewing plans, I wanted to do something that made sense for me, my sewing desires, and my habit of adding things to or changing my sewing plans entirely on a regular basis. I recognized that I had less interest in sewing certain patterns than I did in working through my fabric stash, and it hit me. I went to my fabric shelf, and began setting aside different cuts of fabric – some that were just barely out of season enough to have fallen off my priority list, some that were too pretty to pass up but I’d never had any idea what I wanted to sew them into, some that I’d purchased with a clear plan for but never sewn up, and some that had simply become so precious as they’d sat on the shelf that I’d become afraid to finally cut into them! I had planned to turn this fabric into a Toaster Sweater back when I’d bought it in 2018, but it kept getting pushed aside, so it became my January Fabric! Come see how it turned out, and learn a little bit more about #MonthlyMakeMyStash on today’s blog post!

Crowded Faces Mandy Boat Tee

One of my favorite makes of 2019 went live on the Minerva blog this morning! I’ve been truly in love with this tee since making it, and wouldn’t mind one bit if I just had a closet full of these. I wear this shirt on a weekly basis, and I’m so happy to finally be sharing it with you guys! How many times have you made this free pattern already???

March Monthly Make My Stash – Spring Dress!

We’re about halfway through March and I’m seeing signs of Spring everywhere! The cherry blossoms are in bloom all around me, the air has that perfect spring smell, and the temperature is getting warmer and warmer each day. My family and I have been spending so much more time outside over the last couple of weeks, and it has made all of us so happy. (Of course, now that I say that, we’ve got a full week of rain on the forecast. Whoops!) Earlier this year, I chose this fabric as part of my “Monthly Make My Stash” project, but I wasn’t quite sure what I would make! I purchased this fabric a couple of years ago, before I was comfortable with sewing knit fabrics, and it has sat on my shelf ever since. It is so beautiful, and I really didn’t want to cut into it until I knew I was going to love what I made. So to help me challenge myself to make sure I finally sewed it up, I made it my March project!
