Soline Culottes (extended!) with June + Lu Fabrics

Linen is the quintessential summer fabric, so when I was asked to check out some of June + Lu’s beautiful selection of linen earlier this summer, I was very excited! This bone colored linen perfectly suits the Coastal Grandmother trend that we are all loving this year, and for me, pants were the way to go. I don’t know why, but anytime I have the opportunity to work with a light, neutral colored linen, you’d be wise to bet your money on me turning it into a pair of wide legged pants of some sort. While I’ve never lived on a coast, nor have I ever been a grandmother, I have been adamant that my wardrobe requires at least 2 pairs of white, beige, or bone colored linen pants at all times.

A Tropical Tiger Franken-Top

I don’t know that I’ve ever tried to fully recreate a ready to wear item in my sewing room before, but this top is entirely the result of a very inspiring morning of window shopping on our downtown square. An end-of-summer Rhea Dress

As soon as I saw this fabric, it reminded me of a dress I had in college that I loved. If memory serves, that dress was a bustier-inspired bodice with a straight skirt, sewn in a sateen fabric. It had some cute details on the strap trim, which I’m realizing now I channeled into the trim I chose for this dress without even realizing it! This dress is a total departure in shape from the one I was reminded of, but it perfectly suits my current style and I am so happy with how it turned out!

My very first Hallon Dress

I can hardly believe this is my very first Hallon Dress. I have been oohing and aahing over this dress on social media for SO long, but without a clear plan I didn’t want to purchase the pattern and just let it sit idly in my downloads folder.  At the end of 2021, I had the pleasure of testing the Smultron Dress, and Sanna ever so kindly offered me a copy of the Hallon Dress in return once testing completed. I obviously eagerly accepted, and when I began planning out my monthly stash-busting makes I knew one would need to be a Hallon.
