Neon Floral Pirate Pencil Skirt

I picked out this fabric back in September, when I was still VERY pregnant, and the cool weather was starting to think about settling in. I knew it was destined to be a pencil skirt, but I also knew that this meant that it would be sitting on my shelf, waiting a while – the colors didn’t really scream autumn or winter, and my belly wasn’t super accommodating to a pencil skirt silhouette at the time! So off to the shelf it went, waiting for the conditions to be just right. It’s been about 80F pretty regularly lately, so I’d say conditions are good.

Anna Maxi Skirt – Pinspiration Realized (Volume 2)

This skirt is a long time coming, guys. When I finally made my mind up to recreate a skirt that I’d long loved on my Pinterest boards, the Anna Dress came to mind immediately. I scoured Instagram and blogs looking to see if anyone had made a skirt version, and I surprisingly could not find one anywhere! Why aren’t more of us using this absolutely gorgeous pattern to make incredible maxi skirts??? See how I brought pinspiration to life with the Anna pattern here!

Deer & Doe Agave Skirt

By now, I think we all know that Deer & Doe create absolutely beautiful and well-designed patterns. Last spring, I had the pleasure of sewing up a beautiful Nenuphar Kimono in collaboration with their spring pattern releases, and this year I was so honored to be asked to participate again! This time around, I had the opportunity to sew up the Agave Skirt. This pattern is really interesting – it is a woven wrap skirt that can be finished with a facing, or made to be reversible. The main pattern feature is an asymmetrical hem line… Which you may notice that my skirt does not have. This lack of the absolute main design feature was not my intention when I began working on this skirt.

Pattern Testing the Camden Skirt

I’m so excited to be sharing my Camden skirt on the blog today!! You may have seen my early sneak peek on the pattern release day at the end of January – I had the pleasure of testing this pattern, so I couldn’t help but share a photo to promote the pattern as soon as it released.
