Issue 19 of FibreMood Magazine came out last week!! I had the chance to sew one of the patterns ahead of time again, and this time I chose the Vanya. This is a really cool pattern – I was very drawn to the dress option, but I am constantly recognizing a need for tops in my closet so was very excited that this one came with a top option included! The overall idea of this pattern is a figure accentuating, princess-seamed pattern with a squared off neckline and BIG poofy sleeves. The dress option features a side zip and a great side slit. The top has a zipper that is inserted to separate fully at the hem, which I really like.

Hello!! I am so excited to be sharing my very first post as a June + Lu Fabrics ambassador today! June & Lu Fabrics is still fairly new on the scene, opening just last year in 2021. This small fabric shop specializes in European Fabrics, and carries a number of really beautiful, high quality lines. I had the opportunity to choose from her lovely, curated fabric selection and sew it up as I pleased. I chose a beautiful viscose rayon from the new See You At Six collection, and I could not have been more pleased!
something about this hue recently that has made me want to give it a try – especially during the autumn months. I will be straight with you here – I picked out this fabric last fall anticipating that I would make a fun dress for Thanksgiving. However, I absolutely overestimated how often I’d be able to make my way into the sewing room once I returned to work after maternity leave, and I’ve been running… Oh, a few months behind my own self-imposed schedule?
Over the last few months, I have had the absolute pleasure of getting to choose a number of Liberty Prints to sew up, courtesy of Minerva. This print in particular ended up being my favorite of all the prints I chose… And of course that left me paralyzed when it came to choosing a pattern to sew up with it! The colors and the tiny florals are absolutely perfect, and so quintessentially Liberty, that I became very precious about this cut of fabric. I made about 8 different plans for this, but I was never quite ready to commit and kept letting other projects cut the line. In my head, it has now been a wrap top, a dress with petal sleeves, a woven boxy tank, a short sleeve woven tee, a wrap skirt, an A-line skirt, and I can’t even recall what else! I finally settled on a great pattern – check it out here!
