Athina Kakou is back at it again with a lovely knit dress pattern, just released on Wednesday! This one has a really interesting silhouette – sleek and sophisticated, certainly not the t-shirt dress we have all come to know and love in knit fabrics! The Suzy dress features multiple sleeve lengths, a boat- or scoop-neck, and a slim, midi-length skirt with a great layered slit detail. When I had my first glimpse at the dress, it reminded me quite a bit of the equally sassy and sophisticated styles of the 1960s… So when Athina asked if I’d like to try out the pattern, I was thrilled!!

Happy March!! I’ve decided that this year, as a way to step back and recognize what I’ve made and make sure I’m on track with some of my sewing goals this year, I am going to do a little recap blog post every couple of months! I’m really looking forward to these! If you follow along with my stories on Instagram, you may be familiar with some of my plans and goals for 2019 sewing. I started putting these goals into action as soon as the new year started, and here’s a little rundown of how my first two month segment turned out!
Today is my birthday!! And to celebrate my 28th year, I’ll be wearing this beautiful new Summer Day Top… As well as giving a copy of the pattern away to one of my awesome followers! This pattern is the newest from the Made Everyday pattern collection, designed by the lovely Dana Willard (who you may be familiar with from her beautiful fabric design lines with Art Gallery fabrics!). The top is super versatile, with three different sleeve options, two different lengths, and two different shapes (boxy top vs. peplum)… And all can combine to make a million cute versions. Even better, thanks to the multitude of options, you can make this pattern in almost any fabric and come up with a totally different look. This really is the perfect pattern for summer.
Happy Cinco de Mayo! Today, I’m here for two reasons – I’ve got one VERY exciting announcement to share, and I’m also showing off this ridiculously fun taco print dress that I’ve sewn up specifically to eat tacos in!
