Neon Floral Pirate Pencil Skirt

I picked out this fabric back in September, when I was still VERY pregnant, and the cool weather was starting to think about settling in. I knew it was destined to be a pencil skirt, but I also knew that this meant that it would be sitting on my shelf, waiting a while – the colors didn’t really scream autumn or winter, and my belly wasn’t super accommodating to a pencil skirt silhouette at the time! So off to the shelf it went, waiting for the conditions to be just right. It’s been about 80F pretty regularly lately, so I’d say conditions are good.

Bella Wrap Top

If you follow my Instagram stories, you may have seen that the Bella Wrap Top was in my January / February plans in a smoky blue rayon jersey that I had leftover in my stash. However, when I actually pulled my fabric out, I didn’t even have half the amount needed for the top! I was super bummed, because I’d been really excited about the idea of starting each couple of months with a clear plan for my sewing. Even though my original fabric didn’t work out, I was able to stick to my original pattern plans while trying out this fun speckled knit. So get this – I made this awesome sweatshirt in June 2018. The pattern release got delayed, and then somehow there was a mix-up and I never realized that this pattern got released! I was casually scrolling through the Brindille & Twig website recently, when I found that – surprise! – this pattern finally did make it out into the world!
