Striped Nikko Top with Minerva

Since I was young, I’ve mainly built my wardrobe on bright neon colors and big, fun prints – usually florals. However, I’ve always really loved the simplicity of a good black and white stripe. Two of my all-time favorite sweaters that I’ve owned, both of which are still in my closet today, were black and white striped. I love that it is a combination of a classic print and classic, neutral colors but it still offers something a little more bold and interesting than your solid black or white.

Storrs London Cielo Top with Minerva (the best fabric I touched in 2020!)

I’ve had the opportunity to work with a lot of really incredible fabrics lately, but I think that this one really earned the spot for most luxurious fabric I touched in 2020. This fabric is amazing! While I love the lightweight, easy to work with, cool and breezy wonderfulness of cotton lawn in general, I’m often surprised to hear people get REALLY hyped up about it. I just don’t ever understand quite why? Sure, it is lovely, but is all that excitement really necessary?

A Pepper Top with Stylish Fabric, and some exciting updates!

Does it ever take you an eternity to sew something up, even though you’re super excited about it? That was me with this top! I picked out the pattern and the fabric months ago, and have had them ready and waiting to go… But time sensitive holiday sewing took precedence, and work got more demanding than usual, and by the time I finally got this thing together Texas Snowmageddon happened and I went into personal and professional survival mode while we weathered the storm… But I’m finally here! I made my Pepper Top, I love it, and I’m excited to share it with you today!
