In 2019, I had the opportunity to work with sequined fabric for the first time. I was so excited, but also a little terrified to check this cool fabric off of my sewing bucket list! I mean, what does one even DO with all of those itty bitty sequins!? I was thrilled with the opportunity, though, and ended up creating a super fun New Year’s Eve dress… and decided that working with sequins wasn’t that scary after all! So of course, I did it again.

Gold Velvet Burnout Roscoe Blouse

This top was meant to be ready for Holiday Season 2019, something that I could dress up and dress town in order to be outfit appropriate for any and all style of parties and get togethers! I envisioned it with skinny jeans and boots, with my red babycord mini skirt, and front tucked into a long midi skirt. It was a little hard to shine in this top at all those holiday parties, though, since I didn’t actually finish it until the end of December last year! Don’t worry, though, I’ll be just in time for all my virtual celebrations this year!

Leopard Hacci Knit Hudson Pants

While I don’t often buy ready to wear clothing anymore, I still hop online from time to time and see what is going on in some of my old favorite stores. I was browsing the website of one of my favorite little boutiques on our downtown square recently and saw some of the cutest sweater knit loungewear sets. Of course, loungewear has totally been having a moment this year, but most of the matching sets that I’d seen were made of french terry or sweatshirt fleece. I’d never considered using a sweater knit for pants, and I was eager to try it out!
