September / October 2019 Recap

Another Recap – and another super late post! I’m excited to look back over my September / October makes today, halfway through December. I think next year, I’ll be switching to quarterly instead of bi-monthly recaps, because I just can’t seem to keep up!! Over the two months I’m recapping today, I made 12 new garments – my three favorites were the matching outfits I made for our family for our tiny girl’s first birthday! I did more “selfless” sewing over this period than usual, and also did a little scrap busting by sewing up a headband out of some leftover leggings fabric. I didn’t include any photos here, but that has probably been my most worn item from this period!

July / August 2019 Recap

It’s RECAP time! I sewed up SIX stash fabrics over the last two months, which I’m super happy about! My July sewing seemed a little slow, as I started my first ever pair of jeans about halfway through, but once I powered through that awesome project I was very productive throughout August! I had the luxury of taking some time off around my birthday, and just sit in my sewing room for an entire day and make stuff, which I haven’t done in many many months. It was a super great couple of months, and here’s the outcome:

Jordy Bralette – NURSING HACK!

Today, I’m doing something a little different here on the blog – not only am I sharing my first ever piece of me-made lingerie, I’m also going to share step-by-step how I hacked the Jordy Bralette into a nursing-friendly bralette! I don’t do a lot of pattern hacking, but this was a serious need in my wardrobe, so there was no hesitation hacking right into this one. I LOVE the outcome, and I am looking forward to making a couple more very soon to round out my bra collection.

May / June 2019 Recap

I’m back for round three of my bi-monthly recaps! I did a little better sewing up stash fabrics in May/June than I did in March/April, but still not quite as good as in January/February. I still participated in quite a bit of collaboration sewing again over this 2-month period, but I am so happy to say that I haven’t purchased any fabric since my IndieSew purchase in February / March! I’m really enjoying getting to make up some of my fabrics into garments I’ve had in my brain for awhile, and shopping my stash when I want to try a new pattern. This was a bottom heavy couple of months, with skirts / pants / shorts making a big bang in my handmade wardrobe. Without any further delay, here’s my makes!!…
