Alright guys, here it is – the finale of #MeMadeFall2017. Some of you may remember that the third and final installment in this super fun collaboration was VELVET. The perfect transition from fall to winter, and such a trendy fabric this year, this was the perfect way to wrap up our project. Although I planned to make more than one velvet piece for the collaboration, life got busier than I’d foreseen, and I had to narrow it down to just one piece – so of course, it had to be a showstopper. And with that, let me introduce the velvet Nettie.
Let’s talk about favorite things… When it comes to sewing, some of my favorite things include By Hand London patterns, maxi lengths, and beautiful fabrics.
Cue the best dress of all time (or at least the best dress I made in 2017) – my eucalyptus print, By Hand London Kim, sweetheart neck-lined, maxi hack. I wish I was the type of person who gave all my dresses a cutesy name, but I’m not, so that long, drawn out descriptor will just have to do.
If you’re longing for sunny days and bright colors, don’t worry – I’m here to brighten your day with Dana Willard’s Blush fabrics, her most recent collection through Art Gallery fabrics. I was super honored when Dana asked me to participate in the fabric tour for her Blush fabric line, but had a rough time choosing what to sew up! My first idea (as always) was a bright colored cotton for a fit and flare dress! Ultimately, though, I decided to go a different route. Come check out what I sewed up with this gorgeous fabric.
I never intended this fabric to be an Emery dress, but when things are meant to be, they do have a way of working themselves out. Sometimes all the pieces fall into play, and you just end up with the world’s most perfect Emery dress! Maybe? Okay, I may be a little partial, but hey, I think it falls right on up there in the rankings!! You be the judge…
