I Am Lion with Stylish Fabric

Are you really a sewist if you aren’t frantically sewing up new me-made garments the week before your trip? Yeah, I didn’t think so. My priority for this trip was to create a few looks that would make me feel put together while still being comfortable enough for travel, and warm enough to be outdoors. I purchased the I AM Patterns Lion and Zebre set over the Black Friday weekend, and I knew these would both be perfect for my travel plans. Comfy cozy sweatshirts? Check. Special details that made them just a little extra? Check. (Here’s where you “check” it out on the blog!)

Snow Leopard Roscoe Blouse

When I first saw the Roscoe Blouse, I didn’t think I needed it in my wardrobe. It was super cute, but quite honestly when I first started sewing all I wanted to do was make pretty party dresses! The Roscoe got forgotten until recently, when I realized that it holds quite a few similarities to the most well-loved (and overused) top in my wardrobe. I finally purchased the pattern recently, and I am SO glad that I did. (PS – the pattern was just recently re-released in a more inclusive size range! If you don’t have it yet, read on and see why I think you should definitely grab it! I’ve linked the pattern at the bottom!)

September / October 2019 Recap

Another Recap – and another super late post! I’m excited to look back over my September / October makes today, halfway through December. I think next year, I’ll be switching to quarterly instead of bi-monthly recaps, because I just can’t seem to keep up!! Over the two months I’m recapping today, I made 12 new garments – my three favorites were the matching outfits I made for our family for our tiny girl’s first birthday! I did more “selfless” sewing over this period than usual, and also did a little scrap busting by sewing up a headband out of some leftover leggings fabric. I didn’t include any photos here, but that has probably been my most worn item from this period!

July / August 2019 Recap

It’s RECAP time! I sewed up SIX stash fabrics over the last two months, which I’m super happy about! My July sewing seemed a little slow, as I started my first ever pair of jeans about halfway through, but once I powered through that awesome project I was very productive throughout August! I had the luxury of taking some time off around my birthday, and just sit in my sewing room for an entire day and make stuff, which I haven’t done in many many months. It felt so great, and was the perfect birthday gift to myself. I also brought you guys in on the birthday fun by hosting a pretty awesome giveaway!! It was a super great couple of months, and here’s the outcome:
