May Monthly Make My Stash – Phoenix Blouse

May was a low month for my sewjo! My husband and I painted and moved some rooms around in our house, leaving my sewing space disassembled and inaccessible. The little time I did spend sewing was mostly dedicated to re-building and re-decorating my fresh, new sewing room and sewing facial masks for my husband to wear when he ran our family errands. However, I did get one garment sewn using my chosen fabric for May #MonthlyMakeMyStash2020!! And honestly, if I only got to sew one thing, I’m definitely happy that it was this.

Pink Portobello Trousers

When I get a vision in my head, I don’t let go of it very easily, and these pink Portobello Trousers are a testament to that tenacity. I purchased this fabric from IndieSew alongside a beautiful cupro jersey in my favorite shade of fern green. For some reason, I always get excited to make something green to wear on St. Patty’s Day, and I knew that the cupro jersey would make a really great Adrienne Blouse to wear this year. Happy September Reveal Day!! I don’t know why, but when I printed off this .pdf pattern it seemed ridiculously daunting to me. I’m not sure if it was the fact that the first page housed two tiny pattern pieces amongst other important information, or the number of pages, but when I printed it I immediately started brainstorming ways to avoid moving forward with this pattern – which is so silly, because I have truly waited ALL year to make this dress! The final result of my Fringe Dress is up on the blog today!

Made Everyday Summer Day Peplum Tunic

Today is my birthday!! And to celebrate my 28th year, I’ll be wearing this beautiful new Summer Day Top… As well as giving a copy of the pattern away to one of my awesome followers! This pattern is the newest from the Made Everyday pattern collection, designed by the lovely Dana Willard (who you may be familiar with from her beautiful fabric design lines with Art Gallery fabrics!). The top is super versatile, with three different sleeve options, two different lengths, and two different shapes (boxy top vs. peplum)… And all can combine to make a million cute versions. Even better, thanks to the multitude of options, you can make this pattern in almost any fabric and come up with a totally different look. This really is the perfect pattern for summer.
