Baby’s Coming Home Outfit in Art Gallery Knit with Minerva

I love coverall patterns, but I’d always found them very intimidating with my first baby. Making something so small – especially with special tiny details, like the footies on this coverall – seemed like such a daunting task. How would I manipulate the fabric through the machines when there was so little surface area for me to hold and work with? I was also very intimidated by the idea of snaps, because try as I might, the snap tools I’d tried continued to fail me and I’d lose snaps mid-diaper change on me-mades on a regular basis. Sewing the S8172 Jacket with AGF Rayon – from a Minerva KIT!

Back at it with another sewing kit from Minerva today! This little jacket piece was perfect for my ever-growing belly! I’ve worn it a couple of times since making it, and it is the perfect pregnancy piece. I have really enjoyed pairing it with more figure-hugging pieces, like this midi dress seen here, or yesterday with a pair of (maternity) cigarette pants and a stretchy tank. It is flowy, light, and lovely!

FibreMood 15 – Chloe Top with AGF Poplin from Minerva

It is Fibre Mood Issue 15 Launch Day! Another great round of patterns from the team over at Fibre Mood, and I’m excited that I could yet again make one of these beautiful patterns work for my ever-growing belly now that will also be wearable in the future! I have been so happy to have had the opportunity to participate in many of the recent Fibre Mood launches, thanks to the versatility I’ve found in their patterns. Today, I’m excited to show you the Chloe Top – a one-shoulder top with a gathered asymmetrical bust line, featuring a big glorious bow on the shoulder. I’ve seen some great versions of this top – it is perfectly summery, can easily be lengthened into a dress, and dressed up or down!

Sewing a Maternity Naomi Maxi Dress with Minerva

Ever since I had the opportunity to travel through Italy and Spain, I’ve loved olive leaves. In person, Olive Trees are so beautiful – the colors are unusual and catch my eye every time, and the leaves are so small and dainty. When I saw this olive leaf print from Art Gallery Fabrics, I knew I wanted it in my wardrobe. The color palette is so pretty – though I’ve still not been quite able to figure out my own personal color palette, I do always find that I feel great about the way greens look on me, and I find myself drawn to them. This print has a great balance of bright and muted tones, and I feel like it is lovely for summer.
