Sew for the One you Love – Ellie & Mac Men’s Basic Tee

I’m a pretty selfish sewist. My time is limited, and I prefer to spend the vast majority of my sewing time making garments for myself! In the past, I’ve sewn an item or two for my husband and a couple of things for my sister and my sister-in-law. However, since our tiny girl arrived, I’ve really enjoyed sewing a little something up for her every now and then, especially when it means that we can twin. My husband recently lamented that while I’ve taken advantage of mama / mini twinning, he has yet to have the pleasure of matching with her. July / August 2019 Recap

It’s RECAP time! I sewed up SIX stash fabrics over the last two months, which I’m super happy about! It was a super great couple of months, and here’s the outcome:

Neon Floral Pirate Pencil Skirt

I picked out this fabric back in September, when I was still VERY pregnant, and the cool weather was starting to think about settling in. I knew it was destined to be a pencil skirt, but I also knew that this meant that it would be sitting on my shelf, waiting a while – the colors didn’t really scream autumn or winter, and my belly wasn’t super accommodating to a pencil skirt silhouette at the time! So off to the shelf it went, waiting for the conditions to be just right. It’s been about 80F pretty regularly lately, so I’d say conditions are good.
